Mansha Yad Passes Away; a Great Loss For Urdu Adab

ISLAMABAD: Mansha Yad, a well-known novel and drama writer died of heart attack here on Saturday at the age of 76, Geo News reported.

Mansha suffered a heart attack this evening and breathed his last while he was being taken to a hospital.

Born on September 5, 1937 in a village near Hafizabad, Mansha Yad whose real name was Muhammad Mansha, came out with his first novel in 1955 while his first collection of novels was published in 1975.

The writer was conferred the coveted President's Pride of Performance Award in 2004 in recognition of his services rendered in the field of art and literature. Mansha Yad also won a number of other awards.

The funeral prayer of the deceased will be offered upon return of his son from abroad.

Mansha during the course of his career authored many unforgettable plays out of which Bandhan, Junoon and Rahain earned a country-wide acclamation.

He has been survived by a widow, three sons and a daughter.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilanion expressed grief and sorrow over the death of the prominent literary figure.

The President in his condolence message conveyed his heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathies to the members of the bereaved family and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.

The Prime Minister in his message sent his condolences to the members of the members of Mansha Yad and prayed for Eisal-e-Sawab of the departed soul.

Acknowledging the invaluable contribution of late Mansha Yadin the field of literature, the President said he would be long remembered for his writings.

Amawas Ka Diya; an Interesting Urdu Novel by Aleem Ul Haq Haqqi

Amawas Ka Diya (English: Lamp of the last night) (Urdu: اماوس كا ديا) is a beautiful, very interesting, fabulous and fun to read Urdu romantic novel written by Aleem Ul Haq Haaqqi, the well known Urdu social and romantic novelist who is better known for his best seller Urdu romantic novel Ishq Ka Ain. The novel tells love story of an old aged brilliant painter with a young beautiful actress.

Aazar Jameel is a great painter whose imaginary power is extra ordinary and he just see and paint and not in need of any model. He has crush on his first cousin Zuhra when he was a boy and later he is sent to England for higher studies. On the return from England he comes to know that his father has passed away and Zuhra got married. He falls ill and loses his interest in life. Later he also gets married and has sons but he loves his son Anwar very much.

When he crosses 80 years he once again sees Zuhra. This time a beautiful actress Nema comes in his life who is resembles to Zuhra same to same and this man once again falls in love with Nema and later he comes to know that Nema's real name is Zuhra. But this time destiny smiles on him and Zuhra also falls in love with him and they date with each other.

Now Azar's son Anwar is also interested in Zuhra. There a question appears and that is how Aleem Ul Haq Haqqi should take the story to an end. The end is quite different and I personally did not like the end of the novel. You may read the novel and say what you think.
