Wo Khar Thay K Gulab (Urdu: وہ خار تھے کہ گلاب) is a beautiful and interesting Urdu social and romantic novel written by Rukhsana Nigar Adnan which tells the story of a boy and his father's love and care with him.
Umar is un-employed and careless young man whose other two elder brothers and his sisters in law are employed and settled. His father is a retired police officer and cares and loves him a lot but does not express his love verbally. Rather he always tries to guide him towards right way. He does not realize his father's love and care with him and goes on his lifestyle.
One day his father asks him to get married with Aayza, his niece but he refuses as he does not like her. His father insists him and gives him a deadline to think but just before the deadline his father passes away after a heart attack.
Now he realizes the importance of his father and faces rude behavior of his sisters in law. He feels regret that he did not obey his father. Due to his good fortune he finds a job, which is not very good but reasonable and decides to follow the instructions given by his father.
