Ishq Ka Sheen (English: The "SHEEN" of Ishq [Love]) (Urdu: عشق کا شین) is a superb very beautiful and fun to read Urdu romantic novel, which holds the reader till the last page, written by Aleem Ul Haq Haqqi, the well known Urdu novelist who is famous for his best seller novel Ishq Ka Ain. Ishq Ka Sheen is considered to be one of the most eagerly awaited books in the Urdu reading circles.
'Ishq Ka Sheen', an epic tale - this being the first volume with others to come, has been received extremely well by the masses. Essentially a love story, poet turned writer, Aleem-ul-Haq Haqqi, has woven the story around a religious theme.
'Ishq Ka Sheen' tells the story about 'Thakur Avtar Singh' who falls for a Muslim girl Hoor Bano after hearing her recite the Holy Quran. Interestingly the girl also falls in loves with him and she believes that one day Thakur Avtar Singh will embrace Islam. 'Ishq Ka Sheen' is a journey that starts at idol worshipping and ends at 'Sirat -e- Mustaqeem'.
Along with the blind love of Avtar Singh (Later becomes Abdul Haq) with Hoor Bano the book discusses religious matters between Islam, Christianity and Hinduism and the struggle for the independence of subcontinent from British rule and creation of Pakistan as well. The book is very interesting and Aleem Ul Haq Haqqi can be seen this time in his peak contributing a beautiful piece to the treasure of the much enriched Urdu literature. We are waiting for Aleem Ul Haq to complete the novel as soos as possible.
