Muqaddas; a Beautiful Urdu Novel Hashim Nadeem Khan

Muqaddas (The Secred) is a beautiful, interesting and marvelous Urdu novel written by Hashim Nadeem Khan, whose novels Abdullah, Bachpan Ka December and Khuda Aur Muhabbat have got a great acclaim in the Urdu reader’s circle across the globe. The novel is about the crucial problems faced by Muslim people especially students in western countries especially in USA after 9/11.

Ayaan is a westernized liberal university student lives in New York City with his elder brother Bassam. He is easy going and fun loving young boy. He does not believe in religious identities and has a limited circle of friends in the University.

But the status of Muslim students and his observation of them and other students changes his thoughts and he joins Muslim Group and rapidly becomes Muslim Councilor in the University. These are days when Dr. Aafia Siddiqui’s trial is on the peak and Terry Jones, a Christian Priest announces to burn Quran in Ground Zero on 9/11. A Pakistani student is captured suspected for Time Square Bomb Blast conspiracy.

The novel is indeed a food for thought and you can find whatever you can expect from the pen of Hashim Nadeem. The novel holds reader until the last page of the novel. I, personally, suggest any one to read this novel once. Perhaps he would gain some food for thought and some knowledge about the world.
