Safaid Jazeerah; a Fabulous Urdu Novel by Naseen Hijazi

White Island (English: White Island) (Urdu: سفید جزیرہ) is a fabulous and beautiful Urdu historic novel written by Sharīf Husain (Urdu: شریف حسین)-who used the pseudonym-Naseem Hijazi (Urdu: نسیم حجازی) the well known and legendary Urdu historic novel writer, who is better known for his novels, like Muhammad Bin Qasim (Urdu: محمد بن قاسم), Dastaan-E-Mujahid (Urdu: داستانِ مجاھد), Andheri Raat Ke Musafir (Urdu: اندھیری رات کے مسافر) and Shaheen (Urdu: شاھین), based on the History that shows both the rise and fall of Muslim Empires.

In this novel Naseem Hijazi tells about a fictitious island where government goes to an ineligible person and that destroys that island. Naseem Hijazi wrote this novel one he saw the same situation in Pakistan when Skandar Mira, the great rand son of Meer Jafar, became the first President of Pakistan. At that time Hijazi thought that Pakistan has become like that white island.

Syed Ahmed Shah (Urdu: سید احمد شاہ ) (commonly known as Patras Bukhari - پطرس بخاری) (Hilal-Imtiaz), (1 October 1898, Peshawar – 5 December 1958, New York) was an Urdu humorist, educator, essayist, broadcaster and diplomat from Pakistan. He is best known for his humorous writings in Urdu literature.

His volume of essays, Patras Kay Mazameen - پطرس کے مظامین (Essays of Patras), published in 1927 is considered as an asset of Urdu humor. Among those essays this time I am going to post "Hostel Mai Parhna" (Studying in the Hostel" which tells about the life in the hostels. I will try to introduce the other essays as well. Ibn-e-Insha (Punjabi, Urdu: ابن انشاء) (born 15 June 1927 d. 11 January 1978) was a Pakistani Leftist Urdu poet, humorist, travelogue writer and columnist. Along with his poetry, he was regarded one of the best humorists of Urdu. His poetry has a distinctive diction laced with language reminiscent of Amir Khusro in its use of words and construction that is usually heard in the more earthy dialects of the Hindi-Urdu complex of languages, and his forms and poetic style is an influence on generations of young poets.

He is considered as one of the most versatile poets and writers of his generation. His most famous ghazal Insha Ji Utthoo (انشاء جی اٹھو) (Get up Insha Ji, Let's leave from here) is a modern day classic. His other works include a number of travelogues recorded with a touch of humour.

Safaid Jazeerah

Naseem Hijazi is a great name of Urdu Adab. His contribution to Urdu literature is tremendous and he is considered to be the best historical novelist. 

His novels usually have historical back grounds but he has written some books in fiction and some of his books are comic.

Safaid Jazeera (The White Island) is one of his comic books. The book is about an island which's king is passed away and he gives to Chang San, the prime minister of the island, the authority to choose the next ruler for the island.

Prime Minister is threatened by the lords of many tribes for worst consequences if he does not choose them. Later he chooses a made person who later ruins the island. The book is based on corrupt politicians of Pakistan and their attitude and style of governing.
