Ibn-e-Safi

Ibn-e-Safi (also spelled as Ibne Safi) (Urdu: ابنِ صفی) was the pen name of Asrar Ahmad (Urdu: اسرار احمد), a best-selling and prolific fiction writer, novelist and poet of Urdu. He is known globally for his fabulous Urdu spy novels of Imran Series and Jasusi Dunya. 

Besides Imrans Series and Jasusi Dunya Ibn-e-Safi contributed to Urdu literature with some other valuable Urdu novels, some humorist essays and a collection of Urdu poetry which will soon be published.

 While searching about Ibn-e-Safi on web, I have found alot of interesting and useful things about him which I will share time by time. But now I am posting here his autograph which shows his love and care about Islam and Muslim identity. I hope you will find it interesting. Here you go!!

Mushtaq Ahmad Yusufi or Mushtaq Ahmed Yousufi D.Litt (HC), (Sitara-e-Imtiaz), (Hilal-e-Imtiaz) (Urdu:مشتاق احمد يوسفی) is an outstanding Urdu satirical and humor writer from Pakistan regarded by many as best Urdu Humorist. Yousufi has also served as the head of several national and international governmental and financial institutions. He received Sitara-e-Imtiaz and Hilal-i-Imtiaz, the highest literary honors by Government of Pakistan in 1999.

I had found some interesting autographs of Urdu men of liter and had post many of them. After some days I have found two autographs of Mushtaq Ahmad Yousufi. One most interesting thing I have found there is Mushtaq Ahmad Youfusi has been bestowed upon with very beautiful hand writing skills. Here you go the one of the autograph. OBAIDULLAH ALEEM; Autograph

Obaidullah Aleem

Obaidullah Aleem was a famous modern poet of Urdu language. He is ranked among the best Ghazal writers of modern times. He was a Non-Muslim Qadyani.

He was born in 1939 in Bhopal – India. His father lived in Sialkot and was from the Butt family. He passed in MA Urdu from Karachi University. He began work as a radio producer, and then as producer for Karachi Television in 1967. He first married to Nigar Yasmin in 1970 and in late 90's he married to Tehseen Fatima.

In 1974 his first book of poetry Chand chehra sitara ankhhen was published. In 1978, he was forced to resign from his job following an edict issued against him. His book of poetry received the highest award in literature in Pakistan Adamji Prize.

His second collection of poetry Viran saray ka diya was published in 1986. He came to England in 1991, 1993, 1994, 1996 and in 1997. In March of this year he suffered a severe heart attack in Rabwah and was treated in Fazl – E – Omer Hospital for a few days.

He returned to his residence at Nazimabad no 4. Karachi. In comparatively good health Aleem died from heart failure, following a second heart attack.

USTAD DAMAN; Autograph

Ustad Daman

Ustad Daman (real name Chiragh Deen) (September 1911 - December 3, 1984) was a Punjabi poet and mystic. He was the most celebrated Punjabi poet at the time of the Partition of India in 1947. A severe critic of military dictators who ruled over Pakistan for many decades, his most quoted lines censure the state of affairs in his country.

He was introduced into politics by Mian Iftikharuddin, originally as part of the struggle for independence.

Daman's Grave

A tailor by profession, in 1930 he stitched a suit for Iftikharuddin, who was impressed by his verse. He invited him to recite his poem at a public meeting organised by the Indian National Congress, where he became an instant hit; Pandit Nehru, who was present, dubbed him the ‘Poet of Freedom’. He first wrote under the pen name Humdam, which was later changed to Daman. The title ‘Ustad’ was bestowed on him by the people. After that he became a regular participant in these meetings. He believed that the unity of Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs was essential, if the struggle for freedom was to be carried on successfully.

ASHFAQ AHMAD; Autograph

Ashfaq Ahmad

Ashfaq Ahmed, (Performance), (Sitara-e-Imtiaz) (Urdu: اشفاق احمد) (August 22, 1925 – September 7, 2004) was a distinguished writer, playwright, broadcaster, intellectual and spiritualist from Pakistan. His prime qualities of heart and hand earned appreciations across the borders. He was regarded by many as the best Urdu Afsana (short-story) writer after Saadat Hasan Manto, Ismat Chughtai and Krishan Chander following the publication of his famous short-story "Gaddarya" [The Shepherd] in 1955.

Ahmed was born on 22 August 1925 in Garhmukteshwar village, Ghaziabad, British India. He obtained his early education in his native district. Shortly before independence in 1947, he migrated to Pakistan and made the Punjab metropolis, Lahore as his abode.

He completed his Masters in Urdu literature from Government College Lahore. Bano Qudsia, his wife and companion in Urdu literary circles who is also one of the best novelists of Urdu, was his classmate at Government College.

Besides his personality as a great author of impressive and laudable books, Ashfaq Ahmed, in his later period of life, was greatly inclined towards sufism, which was visibly reflected in most of his works. His close association with Qudrat Ullah Shahab and Mumtaz Mufti was also attributed for this tendency.

Of-late, he used to appear in a get together with his fans in television's program 'Baittakh' [The Guest Room] and 'Zaviya' [The Dimension] wherein he gave swift but satisfying responses to each and every query, placed before him, explicitly by the youth of each gender, in a mystic style.

FAIZ AHMAD FAIZ; Autograph

Faiz

Faiz Ahmed Faiz (Punjabi: فیض احمد فیض; born 1911, died 1984) was a renowned Pakistani poet, and one of the most famous poets of the Urdu language. He was a member of the Anjuman Tarraqi Pasand Mussanafin-e-Hind (All India Progressive Writers' Movement) and an avowed Marxist. In 1962, he was awarded the Lenin Peace Prize by the Soviet Union.

Faiz started a branch of Progressive Writers' Movement in Punjab in 1936. Also he was a Member and Secretary of this branch. He was also an Editor of Mahanama (Monthly). Faiz became a lecturer in English at M. A. O. College, Amritsar in 1935 and then at Hailey College of Commerce, Lahore.

He briefly joined the British Indian Army and was promoted to the rank of Lieut. Colonel in 1944. He resigned from the Army in 1947 and returned to Lahore to become the first editor in chief of the Pakistan Times, In 1959 he was appointed as Secretary, Pakistan Arts Council and worked in that capacity till 1962.

Ahmad Faraz

Ahmed Faraz (Urdu: احمد فراز) is a Pakistani urdu poet. He was considered one of the greatest modern Urdu poets of the last century. Faraz is his pseudonym 'takhallus', whereas his real name is Syed Ahmad Shah (سید احمد شاہ). Ahmed Faraz died in Islamabad on August 25, 2008.

Ahmad Faraz's Poetry

Ahmed Faraz, who has been compared with Faiz Ahmed Faiz, holds a unique position as one of the best poets of current times, with a fine but simple style of writing. Even common people can easily understand. Ethnically a Hindko speaking Pashtoon, Ahmed Faraz studied Persian and Urdu at the Peshawar University. He later became lecturer at the Peshawar University.

Coming from a respectable family of Syeds, descendents of ''Haji Bahadar" a famous saint of Kohat, he moved to Peshawar with entire family. Studied in famous Edwards College, Peshawar and then did his Masters in Urdu and Persian from Peshawar University.

During his time in college, Faiz Ahmed Faiz and Ali Sardar Jafri were the best progressive poets, who impressed him and became his role models.

Intizar Hussain

Intizar Hussain, (Sitara-e-Imtiaz), is eminent living Urdu fiction writer. He was born on December 7, 1923 in Dibai, Bulandshahr India but migrated to Pakistan in 1947. He did his masters (M.A.) in Urdu and later on in English literature. He writes short stories and novels in Urdu, and also columns for newspapers in English.

NASIR KAZMI; Autograph

Nasir Kazmi

Syed Nasir Raza Kazmi, (1925-1972) (Urdu: سید ناصر رضا كاظمی) was a renowned Urdu poet of Pakistan. He was one of the greatest poets of this era, especially in the use of "ista'aaray" and "chhotee beher".

Kazmi was born on December 8, 1925 at Ambala in British India. He was educated at Ambala, Simla and Lahore. He returned to Ambala in 1945 and started looking after his ancestral land. After the creation of Pakistan in 1947, he came to Lahore. He did some journalistic work with Auraq-e-Nau as an editor and became editor-in-chief of the magazine Humayun in 1952. Later he was associated with Radio Pakistan, Lahore and other literary publications and organizations.

Nasir's Poetry

Nasir Kazmi started his poetic life in 1940 by following the style of Akhtar Sherani and wrote romantic poems and sonnets. Later he began writing ghazals under the guidance of Hafeez Hoshyarpuri. He was a great admirer of Mir Taqi Mir and probably the melancholy and "Ehsaas-e-Mehroomi" in his poetry was a direct result of that. His tutor in poetry was Hafeez Hoshyarpuri, who himself used a lot of symbols from nature in his poems.

Abdul Hameed Adam

The Poet: Abdul Hameed Adam عبدالحمید عدم (takhallus: Adam عدم) was born on 10 April 1910 in Punjab, India (in the part of Punjab which is in Pakistan now). Most of the researchers think that he was born in Talwandi Musa Khan تلونڈی موسیٰ خان, District Gujranwala گوجرانوالہ. However, in one of his own articles published in the ghazal number غزل نمبر of the literary magazine Fanoon فنُون from Lahore, he writes that: since my father was living in Lyallpur (now Faisalabad) in April 1910, my arrival (tashreef aawari تشریف آوری) took place there (translation is KhamoshTamashais).

He was so adept in writing poetry that he could complete a ghazal in a few minutes. The last three works were published following his death. His philosophy is of being patient and content in life and not make difficult for others by being greedy. The suffering and sorrows of the have-nots are expressed very efficiently and in a personal manner.

ANEES NAGI; Autograph

Anees Nagi

Dr. Anis Nagi (Urdu: انیس ناگی) is a Pakistani poet, novelist and critic. He has retired from government service and is now living in Lahore, his birthplace.

He has done MA Urdu (Gold Medalist) from the University of Punjab and taught in Government College Lahore and Faisalabad some years. Later he passed the PCS and became an officer and leaved the teaching job. Now he is a 20 grade officer.

He has written many novels. It would be interesting to mention that his novels are composed by himself. He spends time on his computer composing his novels.

Josh Malihabadi

Josh Malihabadi (Urdu: جوش ملیح آبادی) (born as Shabbir Hasan Khan; شبیر حسن خان) (December 5, 1894 – February 22, 1982) was a noted Urdu poet born in British India, who was an Indian citizen until 1958, when he emigrated to Pakistan and became a Pakistani citizen. He wrote ghazals and nazm under the takhallus (Urdu for nom de plume) Josh (جوش) (literally, "Passion" or "Intensity").

His poetry has got a great acclaim across the globe, especially the moderate and secular minded people like his poetry very much. He has a great command on the vocabulary and considered to be the great scholar of Urdu vocabulary.

Josh is reputed to have had a masterful command over Urdu and was quite strict about respecting the grammar and rules of the language. The first collection of his poetry was published in 1921. The collection of his poetry includes Shola-o-Shabnam, Junoon-o-Hikmat, Fikr-o-Nishaat, Sunbal-o-Salaasal, Harf-o-Hikaayat, Sarod-o-Kharosh & "Irfaniyat E Josh" (all Urdu titles). On the advice of film director W.Z.Ahmed, he also wrote songs for Shalimar Pictures. During this time, he was staying in Pune. His autobiography is titled Yaadon ki Baarat.

Ibn-e-Insha

Ibn-e-Insha (Punjabi, Urdu: ابن انشاء) (b. 15 June, 1927 d. 11 January, 1978) was an eminent Pakistani Leftist Urdu poet, humorist, travelogue writer and columnist. Along with his poetry, he was regarded one of the best humorists of Urdu. His poetry has a distinctive diction laced with language reminiscent of Amir Khusro in its use of words and construction that is usually heard in the more earthy dialects of the Hindi-Urdu complex of languages, and his forms and poetic style is an influence on generations of young poets.

He is considered as one of the most versatile poets and writers of his generation. His most famous ghazal Insha Ji Utthoo (انشاء جی اٹھو) (Get up Insha Ji, Let's leave from here) is a modern day Classic. His other works include a number of travelogues recorded with a distinguished touch of humour.
