Alwida Abbu; an Article on Abn-e-Safi by Dr. Ahmad Safi

Ibn-e-Safi (also spelled as Ibne Safi) (Urdu: ابنِ صفی) was the pen name of Asrar Ahmad (Urdu: اسرار احمد), a best-selling and prolific fiction writer, novelist and poet of Urdu. He is known globally for his fabulous Urdu spy novels of Imran Series and Jasusi Dunya. 


His main works were the 125-book series Jasoosi Dunya (The Spy World) and the 120-book Imran Series, with a small canon of satirical works and poetry. His novels were characterized by a blend of mystery, adventure, suspense, violence, romance and comedy, achieving massive popularity across a broad readership in South Asia.

His son Dr. Ahmad Safi had written an essay on him, at the time when this great novelist passed away. I feel pleasant to share the feelings of a loyal son for his successful father. I am sure you will like this post. Here you go!

Zakhm-e-Nihan; a Beautiful Urdu Novel by Aleem Ul Haq Haqqi

Zakhm-e-Nihan (English: The Hidden Wound) (Urdu: زخمِ نہاں) is a fabulous, fantastic and fun to read romantic Urdu novel written by Aleem Ul Haq Haqqi, the famous and well known Urdu romantic and social novelist who is well known for his masterpiece Urdu novel "Ishq Ka Ain" and the fabulous "Ishq ka Sheen."

The novel tells the story of a boy who does not have any emotions. He always treats things on realistic level and does not go to the emotions. But when he falls in love he realizes what emotions are.

Rashid Naweed, is a brilliant student and very good player of Tannis. He is fond of photography and is seen always with his Camera. One day he calls police to his hostel room and informs that his best friend and Roommate Muzaffar has committed suicide. Muzaffar comes to room and informs him that he is going to commit suicide. He lets him do that and goes on reading book and watches his friend dying. He believes that his friend had the freedom to do to him whatever he wanted as it was his life and that’s why when he decided to commit suicide he just let him do that.

While packing Muzaffar's belongings he finds his sister Sumaira's picture and keeps it with him. Later he receives a later from Sumaira a Letter in which she blames him for killing his brother as he did not stop him from suicide.

He decides to know Muzaffar's family and specially Sumaira and visits Murree where they stay these days. In Murree he finds Sumaira and both fall in love with each other but Sumaira is unaware of his real identity. Does Sumaira forgive him when she knows about him? Why did Muzaffar commit suicide?? Insan Bamuqabila Shaitan; a Fantastic Urdu Novel by Aleem Ul Haq Haqqi

Insan Ba Muqabila Shaitan (English: Human Versus Devil) (Urdu: انسان بمقابله شيطان) is a beautiful, fantastic, very interesting and fun to read Urdu social and romantic novel written by Aleem Ul Haq Haqqi, the excellent Urdu social and romantic novelist who is better known for his brilliant Urdu romantic novel Ishq Ka Ain. The novel tells the everlasting battle between human and devil, between KHAIR (Betterment) of human being and SHAR (Destruction) for them. Some part of the novel have been published with the name of "Ashraf Ul Makhlooqat" and now that novel is included in this novel.

The novel carries the theme that a sinner can turn into a pious man due to Taufeeq from Allah Almighty while a pious man can reverse into sinner due to his arrogance and human being with his intellect and wisdom can defeat any power even devil can be defeated by the due use of wisdom and intellect, the great blessing of Allah Almighty.

Rizwan, Adnan and Sulaiman are three very good friends. They are colleagues in an office and devil gives task to his followers the divert Rizwan from the right path and guy the soul of Sulaiman. Rizwan is a religious man while Sulaiman is not too much religious but he respects religion and religious people.

How rizwan and sulaiman react to the devils?? Can the devils accomplish their mission?? Read the superb novel Shaitan. I promise you will find this novel a food for thought apart from being a piece of literature.

Pas-e-Naqab; an Interesting Urdu Novel by Aleem Ul Haq Haqqi

Pas-e-Naqaab (English: Behind the Veil) (Urdu: پسِ نقاب) is a beautiful, very interesting and fun to read Urdu thriller and romantic novel written by Aleem Ul Haq Haqqi, who is better known for his best seller Urdu romantic novel Ishq Ka Ain. The novel is full of suspense and thrills. It tells a story of the struggle of a girl to trace the killer of her elder sister.

Nainan is a promising actress in Bollywood and she is trying to trace the killer of her elder sister and Oscar winner Bollywood actress Laila (Veena). The two sisters come from Delhi to Mumbai after their father passes away. They felt insecure in Delhi as their mother was characterless and had friendship and relations with many men.

In Mumbai Veena becomes Laila and gains worldwide recognition because of her acting and later she wins Oscar Award for her acting in a Bollywood film. She educates Naina and sends her to London for higher studies and after completing education Naina also starts acting career.

One day Laila is killed and Kelash, the person who was in love with Laila is accused of being murderer. Interestingly Naina also loves Kelash but she decides to punish her sister's killer. Kelash denies the accusation.

The novel tells the thriller adventure of a brave and smart journalist who discloses two cases at a time.

Mazhar is very smart and active journalist, who has been selected for the award of the best journalist of the year, works these days on a feature about drugs in Karachi, especially in the area of beach. He disguises into a drugs addicted man and lives in the slum of sea side with a 15 year old girl Reena. One day a man, Khalid Mahmood, approaches him and takes him to his house and says him that he is diagnosed Cancer and he is insured that’s why he wants Mazhar to kill him.

Now Mazhar works on both cases. He finds much useful information about Mazhar and meanwhile he is busy in the feature about drugs. Finally he solves both cases in a thriller and terrible night. Who is the boss of the racket of drugs?? Does Khalid really wants Mazhar to kill him or he actually has some other conspiracy?? Read the novel. Muhabbat Muhabbat; a Beautiful Urdu Romantic Novel by Aleem Haqqi

Muhabbat Muhabbat (English: Love Love) (Urdu: محبت محبت) is a beautiful, interesting and fun to read Urdu romantic novel written by Aleem Ul Haq Haqqi, the famous and renowned Urdu novelist who is well known for his novel Ishq Ka Ain and Ishq Ka Sheen. The novel tells a strange love story of a couple having dual personality.

Sajjad Hameed lives happily with his wife Qudsiya. He has one son and one daughter. He is a successful business man. His wife trusts him and thinks that he cannot cheat her. In his office, his secretary Lucy also has a crush on him but she also knows that he cheats his wife and goes on dates with another lady.

One day he calls his love Seemab and fixes time and place to meet her. While waiting for the time to come he goes back to his past. There is an interesting loves story of Seemab and Sajjad and their contradictory behaviors and thoughts.

But the end of the novel is shocking. The reader goes in shock when he reads that Qudsiya and Seemab both are two name of one lady and Sajjad is dating with his own wife. And after a police raid Seemab refuses to continue this adventure and Sajjad decides to start this adventure with his secretary.

Mahfooz Maqam (English: Safe Place) (English: محفوظ مقام) is a fabulous and very interesting Urdu novel written by Aleem Ul Haq Haqqi, the well known and famous Urdu social and romantic novelist who is best known for his remarkable and best seller Urdu romantic novel Ishq Ka Ain. The novel tells the story of some dark faces of human psychology and bad effects of human greed which often leads one to the way of crime. It has the origin and back ground of Kenya which is newly independent from white people's ruling and it seems to be translated from a foreign language into Urdu.

Mato is a Negro of Kenya who works in the house of an English man. One day he reaches his employer's house to prepare breakfast for him, but he finds his boss killed in his room. He calls the police. Next day police once again come to the house where his boss was killed and his childhood friend Tano was also with the police wearing police uniform. But his friend does not show any warmness towards him.

Police investigate him and ask some questions about the incident and also try to know the motive of murder. He could not say anything. One the police leaves the house, he starts cleaning the house and suddenly he hears voice of Tano. Now Tano starts investigating him about the diamonds which his boss hid somewhere in the house.

Mato realizes that Tano is the killer of his boss and he did it for the greed of diamonds. He asks him where his boss had hidden the diamonds in his house. He could not answer and he says the he does not know about that. Later he finds the place where the diamonds were kept. But he does not inform the police about anything.

Maan; an Interesting Urdu Novel by Aleem Ul Haq Haqqi

Maan (English: Mother) (Urdu: ماں) is a beautiful, very interesting and fun to read Urdu novel written by Aleem Ul Haq Haqqi, the well known Urdu novelist who is best known for his best seller Urdu romantic novel "Ishq Ka Ain". The novel tells the story of a careless and ignorant mother and her greed and adventure to earn illegal money and her failure in her mission.

Motherly love and maternal affection is very common in all the societies and all the countries of the world but in very rare cases mothers can be found loveless and careless of their children. Aleem Ul Haq Haqqi writes in this novel such woman who does not have any soft feelings for her daughter.

Lui had an illegitimate daughter and she left her in the stairs of a church and a couple Mr. and Mrs. Bird take the girl and bring her up. Later Lui approaches them and asks for her daughter but she really does not need her daughter rather she takes money from them and leaves the girl with them. They care and bring the girl just like their own child.

After seven years Lui once again visits them and asks them to either let her daughter live with her or give her some money. Mr. Bird refuses her both options and she decides to sue them.

Now how they get rid of this greedy woman?? Aleem Ul Haq writes an adventurous story and I am damn sure you will enjoy reading this short novel.

Kan Kun; a Beautiful Urdu Romantic Novel by Aleem Ul Haq Haqqi

Kan Kun (English: Miner) (Urdu: کان کن) is a beautiful, very interesting and fun to read Urdu romantic novel, written by Aleem Ul Haq Haqqi, the well known and popular Urdu social and romantic novelist who is best known for his best seller Urdu romantic novel Ishq Ka Ain. The novel describes the worst condition of miners and their even worst financial situation in a hill town of India in late 20th century. The living standard of the people in that town is very low but the only thing, which is as pure as always it is, the love.

Rashid an intelligent and talented young boy of a miner Saeed Hassan lives in a hill station of India where Muslims and Christians live together in complete religious harmony and peace. Saeed Hassan had brought an orphan Christian Robert and Rashid considers him as his own elder brother. Though Muslims are dominant in the town but they participate in Christian celebrations like Christmas and Easter. Later Robert dies in an accident and once again Saeed brings his wife and daughter to his home.

Rashid starts learning and decides to become an engineer to secure his future and serve his people rather than wasting his life in mines. While coming from school by a Christian priest, he often confronts with Maryam a beautiful Christian girl. One day Maryam requests him to teach write her name and teach her also. He starts teaching her and eventually he falls in love with Maryam.

Later Rashid is sent to foundry where he learns engineering and there gets married with a girl but his wife dies soon. In his town Maryam gets pregnant of his child and gets married to the Christian priest.

Now life becomes tougher and after a conspiracy against Rashid, he sentenced to life imprisonment and sent to Kala Pani Jail. In his town Maryam accepts Islam and manages to inform influential peoples about the conspiracy and consequently Rashid is freed and Maryam and he start new life.

Janam Jan-e-Jahan; a Fantastic Urdu Novel by Aleem Ul Haq Haqqi

Janam Jan-e-Jahan (Urd: جانم جانِ جہاں) is a superb, interesting, suspenseful and fun to read Urdu thriller novel written by Aleem Ul Haq Haqqi, the renowned Urdu romantic and social novelist who is best known for authoring the fabulous Urdu romantic novel Ishq Ka Ain. The novel tells about an eleven years old case of mysterious murder case and its trials.

Nazneen was a beautiful, but characterless, young girl. She was top model by profession and later she got married with Mukhtar Azeem a rich business man and one day she had been found killed in her house and all the proves were against Mukhtar Azeem and after the trial he had been sentenced to life imprisonment.

After eleven year another promising and honest lawyer Safeena Ansar gets interested in that old case and she believes that Mukhtar Azeem is innocent and the killer of Nazneen is someone else. She decides to try to reopen the case and the novel enters to a sensational and interesting phase. One you know the killer you would not believe that and will be shocked.

Hazaroon Khwahishain (English: Thousands of Wishes) (Urdu: ھزاروں خواہشیں) is a wonderful, superb, very beautiful and fun to read Urdu social and romantic novel written by Aleem Ul Haq Haqqi, the famous and well known Urdu romantic and social novelist well known for his best seller novel Ishq Ka Ain. The novel tells a story of a boy who is granted super normal powers.

If someone is informed that his dreams are no more just dreams, his wishes can come true, how he would react? This is the theme of the novel. Zaheen Akhtar, hailing from a poor and socially law status family, leaves home and jobs in an office. He is very intelligent and loves Aaqila, a girl like him hailing from a poor family. Both are in search of a shining future. One day Aaqila leaves him and informs him that she is going to get married with her wealthy aged boss.

The guy, Zaheen Akhtar, loses his job and stays in homes starving. All of sudden he finds a beautiful lady in his room and she says that she is sent from Almighty and she can fulfill his three wishes. He does not believe and teases her and to check whether she is telling truth of lie he wishes that she would disappear and she does.

Later he calls her and asks for a good and delicious meal as the second wish. After eating dinner he thinks and wishes that he would be given one thousand more wishes and this time he is given what he wished.

Now he opens an office and starts the business of fulfilling wishes. But one day he, along with Aaqilah, his live comes in the trap of his own wishes and becomes trapped in seven minutes forever.

William Lavelle Kane is born with silver spoon in his mouth to Richard, a wealthy man in Boston USA while Ludwik starts his life as an stray who is found in Jungle and a poor lady Helen brings him up in Warsaw, Poland. Later he recognizes his wealthy and landlord father when he takes responsibility to bury him in the custody of German army. These are the days of WWI.

Interestingly Aleem Ul Haq Haqqi brings the calamity of Titanic which later brought into a film by James Cameron. Richards travels to USA by Titanic and in the way to USA it sinks.

Now how the two guys cross the difficulties of their way and get successful in their coming life. Aleem Ul Haq Haqqi this time takes you to the west in an era in which cars are not yet introduced and people are suffering from the calamity of WWI.

But she does not know that she will have to use her power there in her auntie's place as the same situation waits her there. How she reacts to the even worst situation there? Her cousin Akhtar loves her and he could not express his feelings for her but one day he dares and proposes her but she refuses his proposal. Later she realizes that she loves Sarmad, her other cousin who is much elder that her and he was in love with her elder sister Shahla. Shahla also was in love with him but her father refuses to give her hands to Sarmad until he does not prove himself a successful man. Sarmad leaves the house and later her father gets Shahla married with another guy and she dies after few years.
